The list of presenters and final program are now complete. Please see below the program of presentations. If you are interested in presenting in a future event, do contact us. We need the presenter's name, organization, title of talk and a brief description. Guidelines for presenters can be found in the philosophy page.

To keep in touch with the community and receive updates for future events register to our mailing list. It is a low volume list. Summer Meeting at RIBA

Friday, 24th July 2009

After the successful event at AKT, three fantastic and quite diverse presentations, a series of lively discussions and a request for participation beyond what we expected or experienced so far...

We are happy to announce the next Design Computing Community event will take place on Friday the 24th of July, 14:00 to 18:00 at the Royal Institute of British Architects (66 Portland Place, London, W1B 1AD).

We have reserved the Wren Boardroom for around 100 people, so do invite colleagues and peers who might be interested in attending the event. The artificial limit of a maximum of three representatives per practice does no longer apply! We do though need to estimate the total number of attendees so please do RSVP.

Due to the generous sponsorship of Altair Engineering we have lowered and simplified the registration and attendance fee to 10gbp for all participants.

We are in active pursuit of sponsors who are interested in supporting this community event series. We are happy to discuss with practices from within the industry and technology providers who are interested in contributing into this forum for contemporary methodologies of design. Please, pass the word!

PROGRAM
14:00-14:25   Olivier Ottevaere, Bartlett
Quasi-Projection: Aperiodic Concrete Formwork for Perceived Surface Complexity

14:25-14:50   Jonathan Rabagliati, Foster + Partners

Meeting at AKT

Thursday, 19th March 2009

Our next regular group meeting will take place on Thursday, 19 March 2009 at Adams, Kara, Taylor's office. The full address is 100 St. John Street, London, EC1M 4EH. The time is as usual at 6:30pm and will run for no more than two hours; It is during regular weekdays after all!

If you are planning to attend, do send us an email as soon as possible. Please bare in mind that due to space allocation reasons the amount of people attending is limited.

The event will start with a brief introduction to the group -for those who are new- and a short who-is-who around the table. The hosts, Sawako Kaijima and Panagiotis Michalatos will present a selection of their ongoing work. The event will feature two guest presenters, namely Scott Cahill from RMJM and Tobias Schwinn from SOM.

The evening will end with a visit to a local alcoholic beverage distribution center for a British style aperitiff, aka draught beer. Socializing is encouraged but optional.
